DATE 10-11 June 2023 PRICE: £395 PRE-REQUISITES Experience leading indoor or outdoors (this can be on bolted climbs) Experience lead belaying indoor or outdoors ( If you have yet to learn how to lead climb we recommend that you enquire about our 'Sport Climbing Introduction - 2 Days' which is the perfect preparation for the move to traditional climbing. WHAT'S INCLUDED Qualified and Experienced Local Guides It is advisable that you bring your own harnesses, climbing shoes and belay device as a minimum. (if for any reason you do not have these please let us know in advance and we can look to provide these for you). We also recommend bringing your own ropes & rack (if you have them), such as quickdraws, carabiners, any nuts/wires, cams, slings etc (we will have spare if required), as this gives you an opportunity to become more familiar using you own gear. We will provide all other hardware required for traditional climbing if you don't already have it. WHAT TO EXPECT We want to keep a 2:1 ratio to maximise learning. and really give you the most out of the experience. The aim of this weekend is to equip you with as many of the fundamentals as possible for starting out traditional climbing independently in a single-pitch environment with a single rope. Some of the main areas we aim to cover: 1. Route choice and guidebooks 2. Identifying Hazards 3. Equipment selection and organisation 4. Gear Placements & Removal 7. Review of Belaying Safely and Efficiently 8. Review of Rope Management 9. Building a Belay / Anchor 10. Abseiling It may not be possible to focus cover all areas in the same depth as this is guide by the level that we start from with you, then at the end of your 2 days with our instructors you will have a debrief to discuss future goals and how to move forward from what you have learnt. DISCLAIMER: There are no guarantees that attendance on this 2 day course will mean you will be at a competent level to independently trad climb, and you may need further tutoring / supervised practice to ensure you are operating as safe as possible.
